What do they do?
BCBAs and ABA Therapists work with children/adolescents and their families to provide strength- based ABA Services by using research-based principles of motivation and learning. Individualized treatment supports developmental growth and functional independence. ABA focuses on the idea that the environment and what we do affect what we learn and what we will do in the future. Motivation and reinforcement are the driving forces behind meaningful behavior change!
Intensive Teaching (IT)
Instruction that provides multiple learning opportunities with frequent reinforcement to teach and retain skills.
Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
When skills are taught in the natural environment to ensure generalization of skills.
Antecedent Strategies
Strategies developed to increase safe, appropriate behavior and prevent unsafe, undesirable behavior.
Verbal Behavior Approach
Analysis of behavior to increase communication skills.
Replacement Behavior Strategies
Functional behavior taught to substitute/replace undesirable behavior.
Family/Caregiver Guidance
Guaranteed 1:1 session with a BCBA/QHP to review progress and support generalization of skills.
Group Instruction
A group session with one provider and 2 to 5 children. All clients are individually supported during this collaborative instruction.
Functional Behavior Assessment
Use to determine the reason, or function behind a behavior of concern so an appropriate and equivalent replacement behavior can be taught.
